On April 16, 2026, the Forum of Young Parliamentarians was held in Istanbul within the framework of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. The delegation of the Parliament of Uzbekistan, led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, along with members of the Youth Parliament, put forward important initiatives and proposals.

The Forum featured dynamic discussions on the role of young legislators in building a just, secure, and sustainable world. Participants exchanged views on advancing consistent efforts to engage youth in parliamentary and public governance processes and to expand their participation in decision-making. It was emphasized that, amid global transformations – particularly geopolitical tensions and the increasing complexity of economic relations – the importance of parliamentary diplomacy is growing.

Chairperson of the Senate Tanzila Narbaeva highlighted that in today’s context, young parliamentarians are not merely participants in political processes but also a vital force contributing to peacebuilding and the development of a fair global economy.

In the context of rising protectionism, disruptions to supply chains, and increasing economic polarization, the impact is especially significant for developing countries and young people. Therefore, ensuring international tax transparency and channeling financial resources into education, healthcare, digital transformation, and youth support are becoming increasingly important.

During the Forum, a video presentation was showcased on the upcoming 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, to be held on September 4-6 this year in the city of Samarkand. The video comprehensively and convincingly highlighted the essence and significance of the forthcoming conference, its international importance, and the strong organizational capacity of Samarkand. The presentation generated great interest among participants, who highly praised Uzbekistan’s reforms aimed at supporting youth.

It should be noted that this initiative was put forward by the President of Uzbekistan during the 150th Anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and is aimed at expanding global dialogue and cooperation among young parliamentarians.

Uzbekistan advocates for strengthening international cooperation, particularly by further enhancing dialogue and the exchange of experience in the field of youth parliamentarism. In this regard, the 12th Global Conference is viewed as an important international platform.
