III Global Interparliamentary Forum on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal international action plan adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This agenda encompasses 17 interlinked goals and 169 specific targets aimed at eradicating poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring the well-being of all people. The SDGs are based on the understanding that sustainable development is only achievable when economic, social, and environmental dimensions are addressed simultaneously. The core principle of the agenda is “Leave no one behind,” which emphasizes that progress must be inclusive, equitable, and focused on supporting the most vulnerable groups in society.
